Heatmap

Version comparison

Put two periods or two versions of a page side by side, each with its own heatmap and its own numbers.

What you see

Two panes, A and B. Each holds the page with its own heatmap for its own date range: before and after a change, this month against last month, or two different pages. The numbers for both sit next to each other, with the difference in percent.

Two versions of the same page side by side, before and after a change

Before and after a change

In change mode, each change to the page is a version. Open one and the side panel shows the page's metrics before and after it: conversion, revenue per visit, order size, revenue, orders, sessions, clicks and CTR.

Click an element and you get its numbers in both panes, side by side: clicks, revenue, revenue per click, order size and converted sessions.

How much is a change worth?

There is no single button for "how much did this change convert". There is something better: the change's version, the version before it, and the same element's revenue per click in both. That is the answer, element by element, and it does not depend on averages for the whole page.

If the two periods are not the same length, Historian switches to the metrics that can be compared fairly, such as per day and per click, and leaves out the totals.

An example

The "Free shipping over €50" tag on the product cards was replaced with "New in". Compare the version with the old tag against the version with the new one: the tag's revenue per click, the product cards' conversion and the page's revenue per visit, side by side.

Stop guessing why revenue dropped.
