Ads Agency Report

Monthly account statement of what changed on the ad account, whether it moved the numbers, and what we cannot see.

  1. agent ›September statement: 431 changes on the Google Ads account, 12 of them moved money. ROAS 6.1, against 6.8 in August, on 9% more spend.
  2. you ›So the agency made things worse?
  3. agent ›Not across the board. The new 'Winter boots' campaign returned 7.4 in its first 28 days. The drop is the budget cut on the brand campaign on 4 September: its conversions fell 22% after it, while the account as a whole fell 3%.
  4. you ›And the rest of the changes?
  5. agent ›Five are less than 28 days old — too early to judge, so they're in October's statement. The others moved nothing you can measure yet.

What it does

If an agency runs your Google Ads, this is the statement you would want from them, written by someone who isn't grading their own work. Once a month it sets out the account: spend, clicks, conversions, conversion value, ROAS and cost per acquisition, against the month before. It lists what was changed on the account, grouped and ranked by the spend of the campaigns involved, so hundreds of raw changes become the dozen that moved money. For each change old enough to judge, it compares the 28 days before with the 28 days after, with the whole account's movement beside it, so a campaign carried by an account-wide upswing is not credited to the change. Changes that are too recent are marked as too early to judge, and what the report cannot see is said, never guessed.
