Product Image Quality Advisor
Flags product pages where weak imagery is suppressing conversion
- agent ›Among your top sellers, products with lifestyle photos convert at 3.0%. Products with only packshots on white convert at 1.9%. Same categories, similar prices.
- you ›A lifestyle shoot costs us DKK 40,000 a day. Is it really worth it?
- agent ›Not for the whole range. Start with 12 products: high traffic, one or two packshots each, conversion below average. Together they had 31,000 visits last month.
- you ›Couldn't we just add more packshots instead? That's cheap.
- agent ›In your data the style matters more than the count: products with 5+ packshots convert at 2.0%, barely more than with 2. At the lifestyle rate, the 12 are worth about DKK 58,000 a month — one studio day pays for itself within the month.
What it does
Product photography is one of the biggest budgets in e-commerce and one of the least measured. This agent audits the images of your top 100 products against how their visitors behave. It looks at how many images each product has and what kind — lifestyle photos, packshots, renders — and relates that to bounce and conversion rates on your own site, not to a rule of thumb. The result is two prioritised lists: products where weak imagery is the likely reason for below-average conversion, and products that convert well despite weak imagery and could do even better. Each product comes with the evidence and the revenue at stake, so a studio budget can be argued with numbers.
An example insight.
