Out-of-Stock Revenue Impact Estimator

Puts a number on the revenue being lost to stockouts

  1. agent ›Out of stock since this morning: 'Merino Base Layer' in size M. Based on the last 30 days, that costs about DKK 3,900 a day.
  2. you ›New stock is due in 12 days. There's nothing we can do.
  3. agent ›Twelve days is about DKK 47,000. The page still gets 380 visits a day and only says 'Sold out'. Show the arrival date next to the size picker, and link the 'Merino Crew' in size M, which is in stock.
  4. you ›Are you going to remind me about this every day?
  5. agent ›No. One reminder in seven days if it's still out, with the running total. If it's back before then, you won't hear about it again.

What it does

"Sold out" is usually treated as a purchasing problem. This agent treats it as a revenue figure. Every day it watches the product availability history, and the day a product page goes out of stock it raises an alert with the estimated revenue lost per day, based on the product's traffic and conversion rate before the stockout. It does not repeat itself: the product is remembered and not reported again while it stays out of stock, except for one reminder after seven days with the cumulative loss so far — so a stockout that drags on gets more urgent instead of becoming background noise. If the product comes back and later sells out again, that is a new alert.
