Site Architecture Advisor

Audits navigation efficiency — is the site structure helping or hurting revenue?

  1. agent ›Your best-converting section is hard to reach. Sale converts at 4.2%, but only 7% of sessions get there, mostly through the footer. It isn't in the main menu.
  2. you ›We're planning a new mega menu next spring. Shouldn't we just wait for that?
  3. agent ›Waiting costs about DKK 22,000 a month. And there's a free slot today: 'Inspiration' gets 0.4% of menu clicks, and 68% of the people who land on it leave.
  4. you ›If Sale takes that slot, won't the Inspiration people lose their way in?
  5. agent ›There are few of them, and the page is a dead end: it links to no products. Put Sale in the menu now and link Inspiration from the front page. The mega menu can start from the new numbers.

What it does

The menu says how the site is meant to be used; the flows say how it is used. Once a month this agent maps the paths visitors actually take, page to page and from each navigation element to the page it leads to, and compares them with the structure the navigation implies. It looks for the places where the two disagree: dead-end pages that visitors reach and leave, high-value pages that hardly anything links to, and menu items that almost nobody clicks. Each finding comes with the traffic and revenue involved, so a structural fix can be weighed against everything else on the list — and against waiting for the next big redesign.

Only 12% of users find the Sale section despite it having the highest conversion rate on the site. Most who do arrive from the footer. Moving it to the primary navigation could recover significant lost traffic.
