The Roadmap

The mission of Historian is to capture the entire digital history of our customers and provide impactful insights from it.

We are currently far in capturing the webshop itself and are constantly working to extract new insights from this data.

However, we are also trying to add more data sources, to deliver even more insights.

This Roadmap details, the order in which are attacking this and provides a glimpse into the future for what is to come for Historian.

Google Ads

Is dominating many marketing budgets. We will capture how the Ads looked, the bidding settings, and the performance of the various campaigns.

This will enable Historian to create posts in the Social Feed for each change and conclusions as to the effectiveness of the change, just like with pages.

We will also integrate the Ads into the heatmaps, to get a more accurate picture of the customer journey. In addition, we use Ad Spend(ROAS) as primary KPI and have each campaign as a Factor when Explaining KPI movements.

Better aligning Ad management with the creation of content on the webshop, is something that we expect will yield significant results. Especially if the Ad management is done by an external agency.

Google Ads is up next!

Facebook Ads

For some webshops Facebook/Meta Ads actually attract more investment than Google Ads. From a Historian perspective this integration will look a lot like the Google Ads integration.

Emails

The plan for capturing e-mails is very ambitious and we haven’t worked out all the details yet and frankly, we do not know if it is even possible. But we dream of tracking every e-mail your webshop sends! Every Newsletter, Order Confirmation, etc.

If we succeed, we will provide a quick overview of all the different templates used, how they changed, and what effect the changes had, and provide context to the Heatmaps, etc.

Google Search

We wouldn’t be tracking all of a webshop’s digital history, if we did not include the rankings in search engines, backlinks, etc. Like the other integrations, this will provide context when viewing heatmaps and be used when explaining KPI movements. At the same time improvements or drops in Rankings, gains, and losses of significant links will show up as Posts in the Social Feed.
